TLC fans, the group chat can take a breath, but keep the love coming. Chilli has shared an emotional update on bandmate T-Boz as the R&B icon continues recovering from a sickle cell crisis that has kept her off the group’s ongoing tour.
Speaking to fans during TLC’s October 9 concert at Fontainebleau Las Vegas, Chilli explained that T-Boz, born Tionne Watkins, was taking the time she needed to recover fully. “I’m going to continue to hold it down for my sister,” she told the crowd, asking fans to support her in T-Boz’s absence.
T-Boz was hospitalised in August after experiencing complications related to sickle cell disease, an inherited condition she has lived with since childhood. Her absence forced her to step away from the It’s Iconic Tour, which features TLC alongside fellow R&B and hip-hop favourites Salt-N-Pepa and En Vogue.
Meanwhile, Chilli has continued performing TLC classics, including “No Scrubs” and “Waterfalls,” keeping the group’s music alive onstage while her longtime partner focuses on her health.

There is currently no confirmed date for T-Boz’s return to performing. For now, the priority is recovery, not a comeback countdown.
In an industry that often celebrates pushing through at all costs, Chilli’s message is a timely reminder that sisterhood sometimes means taking the stage for someone else. The hits can wait. Health comes first.
