Fido has entered the chat with a soft love song, zero unnecessary drama and exactly the kind of confidence that makes a situationship dangerous.

There are artists who make love songs, and then there is Fido, who appears to have made romance a fulltime job.

On “For Me,” the Oosha Records singer returns with a warm, mid-tempo Afrobeats record about choosing one person and making sure they know it. It is his second single of 2026, following “Friends With Benefits (F.W.B),” and it finds Fido comfortably back in the melodic, emotionally available lane that has become part of his signature.

The genius here is that Fido does not overcook it. There are no dramatic declarations, orchestral breakdowns or unnecessary vocal gymnastics. Just a clean groove, an easy hook and that relaxed delivery that makes the whole thing feel less like a performance and more like overhearing somebody whisper sweet nonsense into their favourite person’s ear.
Since his debut EP Olayemi, Fido has steadily built a catalogue around intimacy and everyday emotion, with records like “Lungu” and “I Miss You Die” helping establish his romantic territory. His collaborations with Wande Coal and others have expanded that world without diluting the core appeal.
“For Me” does not attempt to reinvent Fido. It does something arguably smarter. It doubles down on what listeners already come to him for.
