Stop your scroll, this one’s a move. Chris Brown just leveled up his current hit “It Depends” by recruiting R&B legend Usher for an official remix. What was already landing? Now it’s next-level.
Originally released on July 25, 2025, “It Depends” features Bryson Tiller over a lush, slow-burn beat produced by RiotUSA and Nico Baran. The track samples a slowed version of Usher’s “Nice & Slow”, making Usher’s appearance on the remix feel like destiny, not coincidence.
In the remix, Usher kicks things off by acknowledging the lineage:
“He done already took my hit and made another hit … let me take you down (Take you down)”
That’s both tribute and flex, a passing of the torch, with Usher weaving in references to his catalog and bedroom finesse. The song’s sensual DNA gets deeper, and the remix breathes fresh nuance into Brown’s original.
This isn’t the first time the two have linked, they’ve collaborated before on songs like “New Flame,” “Party,” and more. But this remix feels intentionally symbolic: Brown is staking his place as heir (or rival) in the modern R&B lineage.
“It Depends” debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s R&B Digital Song Sales and entered the Hot 100, peaking in the top 30s. Plus, the remix drops right after Brown’s massive Breezy Bowl XX Stadium Tour wrapped, a strategic boost for streaming buzz.
So stream it loud. Debate your favorite verse. And remember: when legends collide, culture flexes. “It Depends (Remix)” says R&B’s throne is being contested, respectfully and reverently.
