WayV’s Xiaojun Goes From Nobody to Somebody on Solo Debut Hey, Somebody

Who said a little self-discovery couldn’t come with a killer soundtrack? Xiaojun is stepping out of WayV’s group spotlight and into his own with Hey, Somebody, a five-track mini-album that makes self-worth the main character.

Released on October 26, the K-pop vocalist’s first solo EP explores what it means to move from feeling like a nobody to recognising that you have always been somebody. Consider it a musical reminder for anyone who has ever needed a pep talk, preferably with excellent vocals in the background.

The title track, “Hey, Somebody,” leads the project with a mid-tempo arrangement and an uplifting message about recognising your value. The EP also includes Chinese and English versions of the title song, giving the central message room to travel across languages.

But Xiaojun is not just lending his voice to somebody else’s vision. He contributed to the writing and composition of “Sky High” and “Wave” offering a more personal glimpse into his musical identity beyond his work with WayV.

While “Sky High” celebrates the happiness of sharing life with someone special, “Wave” offers reassurance to listeners who may have lost sight of themselves along the way.

Rather than preaching self-love, Hey, Somebody chooses something gentler: a reminder that you deserve to take up space, even when life gets loud. Solo era unlocked. And yes, somebody should definitely be listening.
