Afrobeats legend Wizkid is swooning and rightfully so! After his son, Boluwatife “Champz” Balogun, dropped his debut EP Champion’s Arrival and smashed the charts.
Released November 11, 2025, the five track EP shot to No. 1 on Apple Music Nigeria in under five hours. That makes Champz the youngest Nigerian artist ever to hit the top spot there. But he didn’t stop at home, the EP charted in 16 countries and even landed at No. 71 on the UK Apple Music Top Albums chart.
Without any feature guests, Champz owns his space fully, blending Afrobeats rhythms with a personal, honest lyrical voice. In songs like Superstar, he talks about young heartbreaks, while on Grind he playfully throws shade at critics calling him a “nepo baby.”

Wizkid’s pride is pure and public: “We love it man, he’s my kid you know,” he said, visibly moved. This is more than a cute daddy-son moment, it’s a signal that legacy in Afrobeats is evolving, and the next generation is ready to claim its own spotlight.
