Alex Isley is officially calling 2026 her year with the announcement of her major label debut album When The City Sleeps, dropping March 20 via Free Lunch Records/Warner Records. The announcement came alongside her new single “Sweetest Lullabye”, a dreamy, intimate mood-setter produced by the in-demand D’Mile.
For fans of warm, intelligent R&B that feels like a late-night conversation, “Sweetest Lullabye” is tailor-made. Against a delicate acoustic backdrop, Isley explores the bittersweet urge to make a painful farewell feel beautifully soft. She invites a lover to kiss her like a fantasy and gives us melodies that stick long after the last note fades.
When The City Sleeps isn’t just another album announcement. This project marks a meaningful evolution for a GRAMMY-nominated artist whose silky vocals and introspective writing have been building momentum for over a decade. Last year’s critically acclaimed EP WHEN and her unforgettable NPR Tiny Desk performance showed the world she is one of modern R&B’s most intriguing voices.
The album will feature 15 tracks, including past fan favorites like “Ms. Goody Two Shoes”, “Hands”, plus collaborations with James Fauntleroy and Syd.
