TRACK | Miley Cyrus Honors Her Dad + Musical Legends in “Secrets” Collab

Miley Cyrus is turning up the heart in her deluxe Something Beautiful album with “Secrets,” a song featuring Fleetwood Mac legends Lindsey Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood. The track dropped September 18, 2025 alongside the deluxe edition which adds “Secrets” and the 13-minute David Byrne joint, “Lockdown.”

“Secrets” feels like a peace offering. Miley revealed via podcast and social media that she wrote the song for her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus. She wanted him to feel safe sharing even the hidden, difficult parts of their relationship. She says forgiveness and freedom are one and the same.

Musically “Secrets” hits with that vintage soft rock vibe. Buckingham’s guitar and Mick Fleetwood’s drums build nostalgic waves underneath Miley’s voice which sounds more vulnerable than usual. The video was filmed at the Million Dollar Theatre in Los Angeles and co-directed by Miley. Visually she steps into high-fashion looks by Iris Van Herpen and Maison Margiela. There is beauty in the cracks.

What makes this track extra powerful is the cross-generation magic. Buckingham and Fleetwood bring years of rock history. Miley brings her story, grit, growth, and personal truths. Gen Z sees the collab and recognizes it as more than just legacy cred. It’s symbolic.

Billy Ray called it the “best birthday gift a dad could ever ask for.” He says the song shows memories matter and that trust that was broken can still sing. Fans are calling “Secrets” the song they didn’t know they needed: for healing, for understanding, for seeing someone real.

In an age of filtered perfection Miley’s words land raw. “Secrets” is both confession and connection. A reminder that music still has power when it tells the truth.
