Tiwa Savage has never been only a hitmaker. She has always been a cultural force. Now she is stepping up beyond the charts and launching something that could meaningfully shift the music landscape for a new generation of creatives.
The Tiwa Savage Music Foundation is a freshly announced non-profit initiative designed to empower African music talent of all kinds. This is not only about artists making fire songs. Tiwa’s vision includes producers, songwriters, sound engineers, managers and other behind-the-scenes pros whose work is vital but often overlooked in conversations about Afrobeats’ global rise.

Tiwa Savage has made her mark on the world stage for years, from selling out shows to conquering awards and becoming one of Afrobeats’ most respected international ambassadors. Now, she is returning that energy back home so the next generation doesn’t have to pull themselves up alone. In her own words, “Talent is universal, but access is not”.
The foundation kicks off with a flagship programme in partnership with Berklee College of Music; one of the world’s most prestigious contemporary music schools. From April 23 to 26, 2026, Lagos will host the “Berklee in Nigeria: Tiwa Savage Intensive Music Program”, marking the first time a Berklee-led “on the road” initiative will land in the country.
This four-day intensive is designed to give 100 selected participants hands-on learning in performance, songwriting, production, music business and more. It also includes mentorship from world-class instructors and a live showcase to spotlight original work created during the programme.
The bigger idea is simple but powerful. Tiwa wants African creatives to be equipped, confident and competitive in a global ecosystem that moves fast and often leaves local creators behind. Her foundation is a bold statement that African talent should not just be consumed globally, but educated, supported and fully empowered to lead.
