Kehlani, Cardi B, Latto and Patti LaBelle join a powerhouse roster celebrating generations of women shaping Black music.

ESSENCE Festival of Culture is returning to New Orleans for its 2026 edition and the first lineup announcement already reads like a celebration of women who have defined and redefined Black music.
Leading the bill are R&B icons Brandy and Monica, who will headline the Evening Concert Series at the Caesars Superdome during the festival’s July 3 to July 5 run. The pairing is especially significant. The two legends share one of the most famous collaborations in R&B history, “The Boy Is Mine,” and their joint headlining moment instantly gives the festival a nostalgic and cultural edge.
They are not alone. The lineup also features genre bending R&B star Kehlani, rap powerhouse Cardi B and Atlanta hitmaker Latto, alongside soul legend Patti LaBelle. The mix reflects exactly what ESSENCE Fest has become over the decades. A bridge between eras of Black music and culture.

The announcement arrives during Women’s History Month, making the theme impossible to miss. This year the spotlight belongs firmly to women who have shaped the sound, style and spirit of the culture.
Beyond the nighttime concerts, the ESSENCE Festival continues its broader mission as a cultural hub. Daytime programming at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center will host panels, workshops and conversations with artists, entrepreneurs and cultural leaders.
ESSENCE Fest is not just a concert weekend. It is a cultural pilgrimage where music, fashion, activism and community meet. And with more artists still expected to be announced, the 2026 edition is already shaping up to be one of its most powerful yet.
