Olamide Pours Street Culture Into ‘Burukutu’ and Announces New Album Time & Space

If there is one thing Olamide understands, it is that the streets never run out of stories, and apparently, neither does he. The YBNL boss is back with “Burukutu,” a lively new single that turns a familiar Nigerian cultural reference into an invitation to party.

Named after the traditional fermented grain drink popular across parts of Nigeria and West Africa, “Burukutu” leans into the everyday language, humour and celebratory spirit that have long shaped Olamide’s musical identity. Produced by Blaisebeatz, the record opens with an infectious party chant before Baddo gets comfortable over energetic percussion, delivering sharp Yoruba flows about hustle, enjoyment and living in the moment.

The accompanying music video, directed by TG Omori, adds another layer of visual personality. Moving between striking red interiors and an earthy courtyard filled with dancers and brass musicians, Olamide even picks up a saxophone. Because apparently, one instrument and one cultural reference are not enough for Baddo.

But the bigger announcement is still coming. “Burukutu” arrives ahead of Olamide’s 13th studio album, Time & Space, scheduled for November 16, 2026. With a new album around the corner, Baddo is reminding everyone that the street party is far from over. Somebody pass the calabash!
